We have all, one day, dribbled in an alley, imagined the NBA spotlights on our shoulders, dreamed of a legendary floor where each step resonates like a heartbeat. That’s what basketball is: a dream factory. But between fantasy and reality, there is life. And joining a professional staff, even far from the glitter of the NBA, is a bigger challenge than we imagine.
So this spring, I decided to challenge myself: to see if there was a place for me on a staff in Switzerland. And I was extremely lucky: join the BBC Nyon committee, a club that plays in the elite of Swiss basketball.
A club that moves against the wind, but that really moves forward
Let’s be honest: in Switzerland, the championship is not “hyped”. The cameras don’t turn around the players, the contracts don’t turn heads and the sponsors are rare. We are moving forward in a climate where every franc counts, where every partnership is a victory, where stability is not an achievement but a fight.
It’s like sailing on a lake when the weather is unpredictable: sometimes the sky opens up, sometimes the gusts force us to hold on tighter to the oars.
But we are all rowing in the same direction. And that’s what makes the adventure beautiful.
Train, transmit, grow: the DNA of the club
BBC Nyon is not just a team. He has seen players, coaches, destinies pass by.
He has seen the birth of trajectories like that of Stefan Ivanovic, who left to experience the adventure of Paris Basketball as an assistant coach last season.
This is no coincidence: when a club makes the most of what it has, it ends up revealing some gems.
2026: a new room, a new lease of life
In a year, a brand new hall will open on the edge of the lake, a place where basketball will meet the light, the water, the energy of a city that breathes sport.
This room is not just a building: it is a promise.
That of a more solid, more ambitious, more inspiring future.
But to get there, we need support
Because the stakes are immense:
- the junior movement depends on the health of the club,
- talents need structure,
- coaches need stability,
- and the first team needs a clear future to aim higher — why not Europe, one day? (ambition of the current committee)
We want to create, transmit, dream bigger, but for that, we need a network, visionary partners, people ready to write history with us.
If your heart beats for basketball, there is a place for you in this adventure
- Do you have an idea?
- A bright strategy?
- A desire to help a club which fights courageously to put sport at the center of its mission?
- Do you just want to chat, think, contribute, even just a little?
Write to me. Let’s talk about it. Let’s build something that makes sense.
Because sometimes the best dream isn’t going to the NBA.
Sometimes, the best dream is to help a club create its own destiny, a few meters from home.
