Latvia U18s Beat Norway: Jelgava Hockey Duels

In the first game of the series, Latvian young hockey players demonstrated a productive performance and celebrated a convincing victory with a score of 6:2. In the second match, the Latvian national team continued its convincing performance, thanks to a disciplined game in defense and an effective attack, winning 3:0.

In the third and final game, the Norwegian U18 national team was able to take revenge, winning 3:2 in a fierce battle.

The test match series in Jelgava was an important stage for the Latvian U18 national team in preparation for the world championship in the spring. These test matches will help the coaching staff to further evaluate the candidates at the international level.

Oļegs Sorokins will continue to perform the duties of the head coach of the Latvian U18 youth hockey team this season, assisted by Herbert Vasiļjevs, Maksims Širokovs, Raimonds Vilkoits, Edgars Lūsiņš, while Raivis Miezāns will take care of physical preparation.

Also this season, the Latvian U18 national team will compete in the elite of the world championship, which will take place from April 22 to May 2 in the Slovak cities of Pještanje and Bratislava.

The Latvian national team will play in the same subgroup with Canada, Finland, Norway and Slovakia.
