■ Judo: Three judoka from the region received a special honor at the Bonn city championships in the Hardtberghalle. Toni Riquier (l.) from PSV Bonn and Abraao Dias from the 1st Beueler Judo Club (r.) were awarded sixth dan, Kai-Uwe Windeck from TV Eiche Bad Honnef (m.) even received seventh dan. Both are honorary awards in “recognition of continued, successful service to the sport of judo,” as it says on the certificate awarded, and were awarded by the Honorary Council of the German Judo Federation and the German Dan College. In the future, the three athletes will be allowed to wear the red-white belt in addition to their black belt. scld
■ Generally: Proposals for the Bonn Sport 2025 honorary award can be submitted to the sports and swimming pool department of the city of Bonn until Sunday, February 15, 2026. With the prize, the federal city annually honors eight committed people from Bonn’s sport – four women and four men – who contribute a great deal of time and often also financial commitment to clubs, associations or company sports communities. Citizens, clubs, associations and institutions are among those entitled to make suggestions; A detailed justification as well as contact details and age of the proposed person are required. ■ Badminton: The 1st BC Beuel starts the last double game weekend of the year with a lot of anticipation and excitement. Two trend-setting away games are on the program: On Saturday, December 20th (1 p.m.) we go to Gladbecker FC, followed by the duel at STC Blau-Weiss Solingen on Sunday (11 a.m.). ga
