Becoming a head coach at a professional club is a dream for Terry. In an interview several months ago, Terry expressed his desire, but it was not a Premier League or Championship club that was his goal.
“As an assistant coach in the Premier League, and the experience I have as a player and captain at Chelsea and England, I think that is enough to get me a job. I’m not saying a job in the Premier League or Championship, but at League One level,” said Terry.
“I didn’t even get a chance. I went for an interview and the answer was just ‘You have no experience’. When I look at some of the people who are managers now, it baffles me.”
“Was I frustrated? Yes, of course, because I have a lot of good attributes to be a very good coach or manager. But unfortunately that wasn’t the case.”
