Horner to Buy Alpine F1 Stake? | F1 News

Early in the morning, multiple media outlets reported that Horner was considering acquiring a 24% stake in Alpin.

This is a minority stake that Otro Capital purchased for 200 million euros in 2023. At the time of the acquisition, Hollywood stars such as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McIlhenney and sports stars such as Patrick Mahomes (NFL), Rory McIlroy (golf), Anthony Joshua (boxing), and Trent Alexander-Arnold (soccer) participated as a consortium.

(That’s why Ryan Reynolds’ face was shown on Alpine at the time, and a livery was done to commemorate the release of Deadpool & Wolverine.)

At the time of acquisition, the value of the Alpine team was estimated at around $900 million, but two years later, the value has skyrocketed and is now valued at $1.5 billion.

Horner has a good relationship with Breatore and is looking at a return to F1 after purchasing a stake with a group of investors.

For reference, Horner’s gardening is said to last until the spring of 2026.

+ I don’t want to see this crazy combination of Horner and Breatore!!!!
