RDS on Referees: TV Time & Poor Calls?

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua took his anger out on NFL officials, saying Tuesday night during a live stream that he believes some NFL referees make decisions just to go on TV during games.

Nacua made the comments during an intervention with Adin Ross and N3on, two internet streamers.

“The referees are the worst,” Nacua said. “…Some rules aren’t…These guys want to be…These guys are lawyers. They also want to be on television. You don’t think he’s texting their friends in the chat group saying, “Yo, you just saw me on ‘Sunday Night Football.’ It wasn’t a penalty, but I whistled for it. »

When asked if referees really do that kind of thing, Nacua replied: “I mean, those guys are normal human beings too, buddy. »

NFL players can be fined for publicly criticizing referees. In December 2023, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid were fined for violating NFL rules regarding public criticism of referees.

In January, Joe Mixon of the Houston Texans was initially fined $25,000 for his comments following the Texans’ loss to the Chiefs.
