Horacio Zeballos: 2025 Doubles Champion – ITF Election

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) recognized this Thursday Horacio Zeballos as world doubles champion in the 2025 season, an unprecedented achievement for Argentine tennis. The man from Mar del Plata shared the distinction with the Spaniard Marcel Granllerswith whom he formed an unbeatable duo throughout the year.

The award, one of the most prestigious on the circuit, came after a dream season: Zeballos and Granollers won their first two Grand Slam titles in Roland Garros y US Open. The success in Paris was especially significant, as it snapped a streak of three lost finals in major tournaments.

The Spanish-Argentine couple not only shone in the Grand Slams. He also added three other titles on the ATP circuit, celebrating in Bucharest, Madrid and Basel. Furthermore, they reached the semi-finals in Wimbledonconfirming its great moment on all surfaces.

ITF recognition has special value: It is the first time that an Argentinian and a Spaniard receive the award of men’s doubles world champions. For Zeballos, 40, the award crowns a career marked by perseverance and talent.

In the rest of the categories, the ITF also distinguished the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and to Italian Jannik Sinnerwho repeated as world champions in singles. In women’s doubles, the Italians Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini were recognized for the second consecutive year.
