Tennis superstar Jannik Sinner doesn’t just rush from triumph to triumph on the tennis court – no, he also scores big off the court.

The fact that Jannik Sinner inspires the masses is nothing new – and is now also proven with a solid number. This number is 3,877,370. That’s how many times the Sesto native’s name has been searched for on the Italian Wikipedia page in the past 12 months. Almost four million views, that’s a house number with which Sinner took first place in the Wikipedia ranking.

How Wikimedia Italia Sinner’s name was the most searched term in the Italian online encyclopedia. The Wimbledon champion has even prevailed against two popes: Pope Francis, who died in April, is in second place. His name was searched around 3.2 million times on Wikipedia. Francis’ successor Pope Leo XIV follows right behind with three million clicks.

Not a football club, but two tennis stars

Particularly interesting: In the proud football country of Italy, no football club made it into the Wikipedia top 10, but two tennis stars are listed. In addition to Sinner, this is his long-term rival Carlos Alcaraz, whose Wikipedia page has been viewed 1.8 million times.
