Recurve bow
The number 1 seeds, after yesterday’s ranking round, do not disappoint expectations: in the men’s game the American Brady Ellison enters the final for the stage victory – he only risked it in the quarter-finals resolved in the shoot-off against the host Matheus Zwick Ely (6-5; 10+ to 10) – where tomorrow he will face the solid Frenchman Thomas Chirault, who started in the draw with the number 3 seed. Final for the 3-4th place which will instead involve the Brazilian Marcus D’Almeida and the Colombian Santiago Arcila.
In the women’s competition, where the contest saw all green and gold athletes at the start, number 1 Isabelle Trindade Estevez Pereira reached the final act in which she will face number 2 seed Ana Luiza Sliachticas Caetano. For the bottom step of the podium, the challenge is between Ana Clara Dias de Carvalho Machado and Ane Marcelle Dos Santos.
Arco compound
The picture is more varied, although with few surprises. Very final between the Danish phenomenon Mathias Fullerton (seeded no. 1) and the British Ajay Scott (number 2), with the other top element of the specialty, the Dutch Mike Schloesser, fighting for 3rd place in the face-to-face match with the Brazilian Roberval Dos Santos.
The American continent, in its entirety, is ready to fight for places on the women’s podium: the very strong Mexicans Andrea Becerra and Dafne Quintero will fight for the victory, while the Colombian Alejandra Usquiano and the Brazilian Bianca Rodrigues will engage in a challenge for third place.
Tomorrow at Rio de Janeiro will be the moment for all the finals to define the podiums and stage winners in the Brazilian megalopolis.
