Thanks to the commitment of the ASD Arcieri Amici di Reno of San Pietro Vernotico, today 1 December 2025 the new winter archery season opens in Torchiarolo (BR).
The town south of Brindisi, already a protagonist during the summer season, thanks to the commitment of the municipal administration led by the Mayor – Elio Ciccarese, and the school director of the “Valesium” State Comprehensive Institute – Prof. Maria Martella, will be able to experience a new season of archery at the gym of the “Via Lo Marchese” Primary School, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5.00 pm onwards.
Active since 2013, the ASD Arcieri Amici di Reno chaired by Paola Quarta promotes archery among young people and adults, boasting numerous individual and team records. Nationally, two of its athletes are in the top ten, while one of its youth teams is second in compound arch.
There are already numerous athletes from Torchiarolo registered with the company which, under the technical direction of Maestro Cosimo Renna, boasts numerous titles in just twelve years of activity: 17 Italian titles in the various categories and 13 Italian records of which 7 are currently unbeaten.
The extraordinary results achieved by the Society this year, namely, the victory of Lorenzo TALÒ at the “Trofeo Pinocchio” – national final phase of the 2025 Youth Games (held in Merano), the Bronze medal of Sara LEVANTE at the Italian Country Championships (Citta della Pieve), the Silver team medal at the Italian Indoor Championships of Pordenone in the Compound discipline with brothers Erik and Erwin FIASCHI and Lorenzo TALÒ (all residents of Torchiarolo) and the splendid Italian Record obtained by Alessandra MASSARI in the Double Plate discipline, in the “Female Girls” bare bow category, place the right emphasis on the splendid sporting season that the club is experiencing, without forgetting that only last year MASSARI herself, together with Sara LEVANTE and Angela LONGO won the Italian team title.
The company is also a promoter in the organization of important sporting events, in fact, this year, it hosted the “Lendinuso in festa” trophy and four races in the 3D and Countryside specialties, all held in the splendid naturalistic setting of the Cerano Woods – in the Tramazzone area. The 3D specialty is perhaps among the most fascinating, on a course surrounded by greenery, it uses three-dimensional shapes as targets (hence the name of the archery specialty), which are positioned following the natural slope of the course. One of these competitions was the Regional Championship, which in addition to the route within the wooded section, subsequently includes direct clashes with the possibility of all the spectators present to follow the evolution of the competition.
The company’s activities currently take place: for the winter period from October to the end of March in indoor facilities, therefore at the gym of the San Pietro Vernotico Middle School in Viale degli Studi (on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and on Saturday afternoons from 4.00pm to 6.00pm) and at the gym of the Valesium Primary School in “Via Lo Marchese” of Torchiarolo in Via Lo Marchese (on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5.00 pm onwards), while in the spring and summer period at a fixed outdoor camp (dedicated only to this discipline) located along the Strada Pagliarelle just outside the town of Torchiarolo in the direction of the small church of the Madonna delle Grazie, with a wide range of weekly times and days. The charm of this sport consists in offering a calendar always full of Italian competitions and championships, which thanks to its multidisciplinarity unites and involves entire families so as to be among the best socio-cultural activities.
