Last Sunday, December 7, the “El Hornero” Archery Club of Fray Bentos participated in a new date of the 3D Tournament, held in the city of Paysandú. The competition brought together archers from different locations in a modality that is characterized by taking place in natural environments and demanding a high level of technique and concentration.
The 3D Tournament consists of an outdoor circuit where participants must face 24 animal-shaped targets, made of a special rubber-like material, designed to absorb the impact of arrows without damaging them. Each archer has two shots per target and, as a particularity of this discipline, the distances are not marked, which forces competitors to estimate them visually, combining precision, experience and reading the terrain.
In this instance, the Fraybentino representatives achieved very good results in their respective categories. In Traditional Non-Federated School, Julio Oyola obtained second place, while Luis Cabral took third place. In the Non-Federated Senior Raso category, Pablo Echegoyen finished in seventh position, and in the Non-Federated Senior Traditional category, Nicolás Linale reached ninth place.
From the institution they highlighted the sustained growth of the “El Hornero” Club, which continues to represent Fray Bentos in different modalities and competitions at the national level, contributing to the development and dissemination of archery in the region.
