With 3 wins, 1 draw and one defeat and an excellent third place in the standings, the Gubbio Rugby Wolves were looking for a coup: winning at the home of the top players in the standings! But despite the great performance of the Gubbio players who played most of the match in attack, the Alto Lazio Lions fielded fast, precise, forward-moving rugby that leaves no room for errors.
38-28 the result in favor of the Lazio team.
Rugby Gubbio started well with two free kicks scored by Dehan Neethling, followed by a try by Riccardo Romagnoli Poloni.
Alto Lazio scores 3 times, converting, 21-11.
In the second half Gubbio took the lead thanks to a try by Giovanni Piobbichi, but Alto Lazio did not forgive and scored twice more, 35-16.
Rugby Gubbio closes again in attack, a great physical and resistance test for Joe McDonnell’s boys, and scores first with Alessio Ghirelli and then with Giovanni Di Fiore, who steals a ball saved from the throw-in.
