Ebreichsdorf has its first badminton club! With the founding of “The Birdies Ebreichsdorf – Badminton Union” in the summer of 2025, the municipality gained a new sports club that is enthusiastically dedicated to promoting badminton sports for young and old. Together with their supporters – Elektrogeräte Gabriel, ETG Elektrotechnik, McDonald’s Ebreichsdorf, Inseco GmbH, Die Futteroase and Klline Büro Möbel – the Birdies board proudly presented their new club jerseys.
“Badminton is not only a fast and exciting sport, but also a wonderful balance to everyday life. It was important to us to create a sporting home in Ebreichsdorf for everyone who enjoys exercise and community – regardless of whether they are a beginner or an ambitious player,” says chairwoman Katharina Riegler, who runs the club with great commitment.
A special success: The club is currently fielding a team for the NÖBV state team championship and was already able to impress at the AirBadminton tournament in July – the outdoor version of the sport – in St. Pölten. The Ebreichsdorfers took 2nd and 5th place out of 20 participating teams – a strong sign for the future of badminton in the region.
