DRC Judo: Francophonie Championship Medal Count – 26 Medals

Kinshasa, December 7, 2025 (ACP).- The Leopards judokas of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) finished in first position, with 26 medals, at the Youth Judo Championship of French-speaking countries, in male and female versions, organized from December 5 to 6, at the gymnasium of the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa, capital of the country.

The DRC achieved a great performance, winning 11 gold medals, 7 silver and 8 bronze, out of 26 medals won in this international judo competition.

To achieve this, the DRC performed well, fielding 32 judokas including 20 boys and 12 girls, in the final of this international festival of young judo from the Francophonie.

It should be noted that this expected result achieved by the DRC is the result of good work done by the technical staff of this national judo team, on the one hand, and the good management of the National Coordination of this sporting discipline, headed by Master Nicolas Liyanza, on the other hand.

In total, 11 French-speaking countries took part in the 2th edition of this Youth Judo Championship, namely: the DRC (organizing country), Canada, Togo, Benin, Djibouti, Ivory Coast, Senegal, the Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Guinea Conakry and the Central African Republic.

Below, the entire final ranking of this international youth judo competition from French-speaking countries: DRC 26 medals (11 gold, 7 silver, 8 bronze); Republic of Congo 9 medals (1 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze); Senegal 1 medal (1 gold); Canada 2 medals (1 silver, 1 bronze); Cameroon 2 bronze medals, Togo 1 bronze medal, Ivory Coast 1 bronze medal; Central African Republic, Djibouti, Benin and Guinea (0 medals).
