Bad Honnef, Germany – The TV Eiche Bad Honnef judo club recently concluded a series of belt examinations, marking a significant milestone for its young athletes. Held over two days, Friday, March 27th and Saturday, March 28th, 2026, the examinations saw 25 judokas demonstrate their skills before examiner Uta Stang, a 2nd Dan black belt.
The examinations, meticulously prepared for under the guidance of coaches Uta Stang, Bruno Barbier, and Héloïse Barbier, tested the judokas’ proficiency in both throwing and ground techniques. The rigorous assessment is a key step in their progression through the ranks of the sport. For those unfamiliar, judo belt progression isn’t simply about time spent training; it’s a demonstration of mastery of specific techniques and principles, evaluated by a qualified instructor.
A total of twelve candidates successfully earned their white-yellow belt, signifying a foundational level of competence. Eight athletes advanced to the yellow belt, demonstrating increased skill and understanding. One judoka achieved the orange belt, and four earned the orange-green belt, representing further dedication and technical development. Uta Stang, the examining official, expressed her satisfaction with the overall performance of the athletes.
The successful candidates for the white-yellow belt were Julian Becker, Leonie Born, Gianluca Codato, Ibrahim Salim El Haidouri, Mahira Höffer, Maximilian Kubaleck, Lia Aurelie und Nastija Klawa, Luan Lahusen, Jonas Lieber, Ben Ott, and Maximilian Schaller. Those who passed the yellow belt examination included Dennis Danilow, Michael Klein, Leo Kramer, Emily and Julie Liebert, Simon Lützler, Lucy Schimmang, and Henri Wiersberg. Nele Thesing was the sole recipient of the orange belt, even as Lavanya and Suvarna Punnoor, Josefine and Lukas Stang achieved the orange-green belt.
The TV Eiche Bad Honnef judo club has a strong tradition of success, and these recent examinations are a testament to the dedication of both the athletes and their coaches.
