Dotson is an all-around player who is expected to play an active role in defense, as well as excellent ball handling, situational judgment, and shooting ability.
For the Kings, who have long used foreign players at forward and center positions, the addition of Dotson will be the first time in about 10 seasons that they have acquired a foreign player who can also play guard. With this all-round ability, no matter which player he is on the court with, he is expected to take advantage of each other and contribute to strengthening team play.
He was selected in the second round by the New York Knicks in the 2017 NBA Draft, played four seasons in the NBA, and has also gained experience in Turkey and China, making him an experienced player who knows both the NBA and Asian basketball.
This will be Dotson’s first time playing in a professional league in Japan, but I believe he will be able to quickly become a new force for the Kings by leveraging the skills and experience he has cultivated.
