Copa del Rey Wheelchair Basketball: Móstoles Hosts

Móstoles will host the 48th edition of the Copa del Rey wheelchair basketball, which will pit the top eight finishers from the ONCE Foundation SuperLiga at the end of the first round.

The competition, organized by the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities in collaboration with the City Council of Móstoles, through the Department of Sports and Health, will be held from February 20 to 22 in the Eva Manguán pavilion.

«With this tournament, which will bring together the best teams in the category, we reaffirm our commitment to adapted sports, placing Móstoles as a national reference. We will continue to promote a sport that does not exclude anyone, a sport in which anyone, regardless of their abilities, can participate and enjoy,” says the mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista.

For his part, the president of the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF), Enrique Álvarez, states that “for us it is a pride to be able to return to Móstoles a few months after the successful Spanish 3×3 Championship that we held in 2025 and see the commitment that the municipality is making to wheelchair basketball. The Copa del Rey is always a special event. We expect a vibrant competition with eight great teams. “I encourage all the people of Móstoles to come because, without a doubt, they will enjoy a great show.”

On Friday the 20th the four quarter-finals will take place (two matches in the morning and two in the afternoon), while on Saturday the 21st the two semi-finals will be played in the afternoon. On Sunday the 22nd, the consolation final will be held, for third and fourth place, at 9:30 a.m., and the grand final at 12:00 p.m.

Entry to the pavilion during the three days of competition will be free.

The winner of the last edition, held in Guadalajara, was Ilunion, the most successful club in the Copa del Rey with 21 titles, ahead of Ademi Málaga (10), ONCE Andalucía (7), Virgen del Rocío (4), ACE Gran Canaria and Bidaideak Bilbao (2) and Amiab Albacete (1).
