Chaves Growth Plan: Commerce & City Agenda

This Tuesday morning, members of the Gonzales Chaves Commerce League met with the municipal mayor, Lucía Gómez, to address a broad agenda of issues linked to local economic development and the planning of joint actions to end the year and project a 2026 with intense activity.

The Legal and Technical Secretary Lucía Caprile, the Security Secretary Pablo Arévalo and the Nuevos Aires councilor Gianfranco Ferraro also participated in the meeting.

Municipal authorization of Chinese supermarkets

One of the central axes of the meeting was the situation of enabling supermarkets of Chinese origin in the city. The Commercial League had long ago requested compliance with ordinances 3415 and 3084, as well as the application of provincial law 12,573.

On this occasion, the Executive Department reported that a resolution will be issued to grant provisional authorization, in a work agreed upon with the institution and in accordance with current regulations.

Agreement for Sunday closing

Another highlight was the progress towards the conclusion of an agreement for large-scale supermarkets to close on Sundays, with the aim of strengthening the activity of neighborhood businesses, following models successfully applied in other neighboring cities such as Tres Arroyos.

An open work agenda with multiple objectives

During the meeting, a series of initiatives were reviewed that will integrate the common agenda between the Municipality and the Commerce League, with the commitment to work for the growth of Chaves and the generation of genuine employment. Among the topics covered are:

Regularization and authorization of businesses and entrepreneurs: proposal to call those who are not yet registered and facilitate their formalization since currently the processing of the authorization is free.-

Sale of food by public welfare entities: joint work to guarantee adequate bromatological conditions and analysis of Ordinance 3353 to avoid conflicts with local businesses.

Institutional SWOT study of the district: proposal for the Municipality to coordinate a comprehensive survey of the institutions.

Production Area: Different topics related to this point were discussed and projections for 2026 related to the sector were presented.

Private investment projects: presentation of initiatives promoted by the League to attract investments to the district.

Trade Inspection Fee: review and analysis of the current scheme.

Strategic study with UNICEN and financing from CFI: presentation of a project to prepare a Strategic Development Plan for the district.

EXPOCHAVES 2026: proposal to organize the first edition of the event in 2026.

Updated census of businesses and services: initiative to survey the current state of the district’s businesses.

The Commerce League and the Municipality agreed to continue working in an articulated manner to consolidate policies that promote local economic development and enhance new opportunities for the Chavense community.
