Les Volants d’Albret organized their very first badminton tournament in Nérac on December 6 and 7, 2025, welcoming 163 players from Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie.
The event brought together 163 players mainly from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie regions, who competed over two intense days at the Salle omnisport Michel Bert in Nérac. This first organization marks a significant step in the development of the sports association.
This initiative symbolizes the positive dynamics of the club, which has 92 members this season, all age categories combined. This figure testifies to the growing enthusiasm for badminton in the region, since the number of members did not exceed 65 a few years ago, reaching 99 the previous season. The organization of this first local tournament embodies this desire to grow the club.
The success of this sporting weekend was largely supported by the contribution of 63 partners. Thanks to their generous donations, two daily raffles allowed spectators and participants to win numerous prizes.
Volunteer involvement
The many volunteers played an essential role in the running of the event. Their involvement was total, from the careful assembly of the pitches to the management of the scorer’s table, including the warm welcome of the players and the catering service.
Their constant presence and good humor created a family and dynamic atmosphere.
Club members also pitched in to delight the athletes and the public. They spent a lot of time preparing cakes and kilos of pasta, ensuring a supply enjoyed by all. The organizing team can congratulate itself on the success of this event, the result of rigorous preparation upstream, effective on-site coordination and impeccable management of the meeting schedule.
