The capital of the State of Queensland received responsibility for the Games in July 2021, which returned to Australia after Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000.

More than 6,000 Australians participated in the consultations which resulted in this slogan, «Believe. Belong. Become»translated by “believe, belong, reinvent yourself” on the French-speaking website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). According to the IOC, the slogan evokes the fact of “believe in the power of sport and the Australian spirit”asserts that “everyone (is) welcome at the Games”and that the competition is a “opportunity for Brisbane, Queensland and Australia to harness the magic of the Games”.

The slogan of the Paris 2024 Games was: “Let’s open the Games wide”.

The Brisbane Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 8, 2032, and the Paralympics from August 24 to September 5 of the same year.

The next Summer Games will take place in 2028 in Los Angeles, United States. Winter Games are planned for early 2026 in Milan-Cortina, Italy.
