The duel … In the heights it was resolved in favor of the Vallesano team, although the Bidasotarra team deserved something more, since they had brilliant phases and were ahead on the scoreboard well into the game.

A game with many goals was expected and the start was misguided, with the first goal ending the fourth minute and only 2-3 in the 10th minute. Irudek Bidasoa Irun compensated for the initial 1-0 with a partial 0-3, after correcting their aim. In the first six minutes the Irundarras threw two balls wide, another two hit the woodwork and two more were stopped by goalkeeper Krivokapic. After a quarter of an hour, their shooting statistic was 35%, very low, but Granollers couldn’t get enough of it either, with 40%. Afterwards the goals would rise to the scoreboard with greater speed and the two teams finished the game at 63%.
With the score at 1-3, Antonio Rama had called a timeout and upon his return Granollers took the lead for the first time, 5-4. Successive ties were recorded until 8-8, until the young Marcos Fis burst in, who with a steal and counterattack scored 11-8 and, later, two more goals with great power.
The Vallesano team was feeling more comfortable on the court and was four up, 14-10. Then Bidasoa solved the scoring drought with the leadership of Nacho Valles, who scored four of his team’s five goals before the break, which was reached at 14-12.
The best minutes
The match was still up in the air and Granollers was in charge on the scoreboard, but after 17-15 it was 0-4 for the Irundarras in just two minutes, with goals from Iñaki Cavero, Xavi Tuà, Xavi González and Rodrigo Salinas. Four of the seven visitors’ goals after the break came from counterattacks, but in the remainder of the game only one more would come in this way.
At that moment it was not only being ahead, from 17-19 to 21-23, but also the good feelings that Alex Mozas’ team conveyed. And when everything goes well, you are even able to overcome 103 seconds of double disadvantage with a favorable partial, 1-2.
The aforementioned 21-23 occurred in the 46th minute and the tables turned again, this time in favor of the local team, which with a 3-0 took the lead, 24-23, and after several minutes of +1 and a tie, escaped after 26-26 with a 5-1 partial. In total, 10-4 until 31-27.
There is no defeat without pain but this one stings something more. Of course, there is no time for regrets. On Saturday there is a game in Artaleku against Cuenca.
