The relatively new Banana Ball League will feature Banana Ball’s signature rules: a strict one-hour time limit, one point per inning, no visits to the pitcher’s mound and the popular rule that foul balls caught by fans count as outs. These rule changes, originally designed to increase the pace of play and engage spectators, remain central to the sport’s identity. League organizers say expanding into a structured format will add more variety, create meaningful rivalries and increase the level of competition while maintaining the fun and entertainment-driven atmosphere that has brought the sport national attention.
At the helm are the Savannah Bananas and their long-time rivals, the Party Animals, two teams that have built the sport’s reputation through high-energy exhibitions and sell-out tours. In the new league they will be joined by several other franchises, each bringing their own personality and style, as Banana Ball continues to push to become a national attraction. Officials say the goal is to establish a new model for sports entertainment – one that is fast, interactive and designed to captivate fans from the first pitch to the last shot.
The league’s second season is scheduled to begin in February, with games scheduled across the United States through 2026. Organizers expect even bigger crowds, more national attention and a continued reimagining of how baseball – or sports in general – can be experienced.
