Araucanía Games: Women’s Judo Gold Win

The road to the podium was overwhelming: clear victories against the representatives of Chubut, Magallanes and Neuquén took them to the final. In the definition for the gold, they starred in an epic and even duel against Río Negro, which finally ended with a tight 3-2. Despite the loss in the final, the sum of points in the individual and team events secured them the overall first place cup, closing a brilliant participation in the discipline.

On the last day of track tests at the “Soldado Sintético” circuit, Fuegian athletics showed strength. Morena Díaz finished in a valuable fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles (16.51), while Juan Martín Bozac obtained seventh place in the hammer throw (47.250 m). This Thursday, athletics will close with the running events (5km and 6km).

The Riglos pool saw Milagros Verón put in a solid performance in the 100 meter breaststroke, finishing in fifth place with a time of 1:18.46, very close to the podium.

In cycling, in the 15km individual time trial, Lucca Lelio was the team’s standout, finishing in 47th place (24:32). In the women’s branch (8km), Tiziana Pastori finished in 37th position (14:52).

Team sports experienced intense days:

Women’s Basketball: Lost to Araucanía (Chile) 84-25, closing their participation.

Men’s Basketball: Achieved an emotional first victory in the competition, beating Los Ríos 87-84 in overtime. He will play this Friday for 9th place against Magallanes.

Women’s Volleyball: resounding victory against Aysén 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-20).

Men’s Volleyball: Lost in a vibrant match against Los Lagos 3-2, finishing in tenth position.

Women’s Soccer: Lost 3-2 against Los Ríos. He will play this Thursday for 11th place against Aysén.

Men’s Soccer: In a changing match, they lost 3-2 against Los Ríos, with goals from Sebastián Verón (penalty) and Tobías Molinari. He will also play the duel for 11th place.

With judo leading the Fuegian medal table and several teams still in competition, the Tierra del Fuego delegation maintains a combative spirit and a performance that is already emerging as one of the most outstanding in its history in the Binational Games.
