Upgrading to 18 clubs as members of the Professional Division in the 2026 season is a decision that must go through an Ordinary Congress of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), there the procedure must be completed with the modification of the current statute.
A delegation of three Wilstermann leaders: Mario Guamán, Marcelo Bergese and Jorge Ferrufino met in La Paz on Saturday with the head of the FBF, Fernando Costa, and the executive general director, Gastón Uribe, and one of the topics that was discussed was the possibility of increasing the number of clubs in the League from 16 to 18.
