Vu Thi Trang & Le Duc Phat Win 2025 Vietnam Badminton Series

Tennis player Vu Thi Trang (world number 133) has won the Vietnam International Series 2025 badminton tournament for the second time in less than two weeks. She defeated the young Thai Tonrug Saeheng (world number 246, 17 years old). The former number one in the Vietnamese tennis world rankings had previously won the title at the Vietnam International Series 2025 in Ninh Binh on October 26th.

In the women’s singles final, number two seed Vu Thi Trang got off to a good start and won the first set 21:19. However, the Thai used her youth and fighting spirit to equalize at 1-1 in a hard-fought set and ultimately won it 21:18.

In the third set, the experience and courage of the former number 1 in Vietnamese tennis were decisive, so that she took the lead with 3 points at the beginning.

The Vietnamese singles player extended her lead 7-3, 14-7 and ultimately won the match 21-11. With a 2-1 win (21:19, 18:21, 21:11) against Tonrug Saeheng, Vu Thi Trang secured the International Series championship for the second time in 13 days.

Previously, Trang Sausan defeated Dwi Ramadhani (Indonesia) in the semifinals after three sets and faced Malaysian players Shahidi Shaneesa, Sheng-Chun Huang (Chinese Taipei) and Lim Zhi Shin (Malaysia) in rounds 1, 2 and 3 – all with the same score of 2-0.

On the same day, in the men’s singles final, number 1 seeded tennis player Le Duc Phat met his opponent Jewel Angelo Albo (Philippines, number 5 on the seed list). Earlier, Jewel Angelo Albo defeated veteran tennis player Nguyen Tien Minh in the semifinals.

In the final, Jewel Angelo Albo continued play for Duc Phat and won the first set 21:15. After the break, Duc Phat received professional help to regain his calm.

The coach’s adjustments paid off and the player won the second set 21-13. In the third set, Le Duc Phat continued his lead and finally won 21:15. In the final, Le Duc Phat won 2-1 and secured the men’s singles championship.

The title in both men’s and women’s singles of the Vietnam International Series 2025 in Bac Ninh goes to the Vietnamese host.
