Sports Clubs Unite for Charity | Badminton, Volleyball & More

Four sports associations – the Badminton Club Gignac, the Volley-Ball Gignac, Bol d’Air Gignacois for hiking and the Association Cycliste du Cœur d’Hérault – joined forces during the weekend of October 25 and 26 to contribute to Pink October. It was a success: the clubs raised the handsome sum of €4,292, donated to the League Against Cancer.

More than €4,000 donated to the League Against Cancer

We are participating in the Telethon, but this is the first year that we are carrying out this Pink October action “, specified Vincent Vidaller, co-president of the volleyball club with Christophe Barral. A successful first, where the two indoor sports clubs discussed the organization and the game, while rejoicing at the provision of the gymnasium by the town hall.

The program for these two days was particularly copious: badminton tournament (“With 50 participants, we were full“, underlines President Laurianne Navas), volleyball tournament, cycling tours with several routes (54, 92 and even 121 km, worthy of a stage of the Tour de France), and 7 km hiking.

The main partner, Groupama, “ made it possible to offer breakfast and aperitif“, indicate Laurianne Navas and Vincent Vidaller. The initiative also benefited from the support of local businesses such as L’Escale bien-être, Papillon lingerie located in the Cosmo zone, and Les Fleurs de Milicia.

The Badminton Club Gignac, with 85 members – the club cannot accommodate more – and the Volley club, with 180 members, from the youngest members of the volleyball school (from 6 years old) to the senior team playing in Nationale 3, will now devote themselves to their future sporting events.

For the Badminton Club Gignac, it will notably be the federal tournament of December 13 and 14.
