Badminton & Billiards Tournaments: Athlete Participation

At Phuc Quan Badminton Club, within the framework of the Thu Dau Mot District Sports Congress, the organizing committee of the 1st Thu Dau Mot District Sports Congress in 2025 held the opening ceremony of the district badminton tournament with the participation of hundreds of athletes.

Present at the opening ceremony were leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, officials of the Thu Dau Mot district, representatives of districts, units, businesses and hundreds of athletes from the district.

On the same day, at the Royal Billiards Club, the organizing committee of the Thu Dau Mot district sports festival continued its activities with the billiards tournament, in which 60 players from different districts and units of the district participated. The players competed in two events: the one-cushion carom and the three-cushion carom.

Athletes compete in men’s singles knockout event

To date, Thu Dau Mot district has hosted 4 out of 10 tournaments, attracting more than 400 athletes from the region. The table tennis tournament is scheduled to begin on the morning of November 2.
Mr. Vuong Duc Hieu, Director of the District Culture, Information and Sports Center and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said: “The billiards and badminton tournaments are part of the first sports festival in Thu Dau Mot District in 2025.”

Tournaments help promote the development of local sports movements.

This tournament not only boosts the development of local billiards and badminton movements, but also provides players with the opportunity to compete, exchange and learn from each other, accumulate experience to improve their technical skills and select the best players to participate in higher level competitions.

Thu Dau Mot District Sports Festival held 10 competitions, including: men’s and women’s football, men’s and women’s volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, cross-country, aerobics, billiards, tug of war and stick pushing.
