Celtic are serious about appointing Nicky Hayen as their new coach. Multiple sources confirm the interest of the Scottish top club in the coach of Club Brugge.
It is no secret that Hayen wants to leave Club Brugge soon. Not that he absolutely has to leave, but he also has the ambition to move to a nice foreign club. The atmosphere and grandeur of Celtic is not something you can simply ignore.
On a sporting level, it seems to be a step back, but a Celtic coach will certainly be in the sights of Premier League clubs. That is why Hayen does not say no to the Scots.
However, Club Brugge does have the trump cards. If Celtic want to sign Hayen, they will have to pay a buyout fee. Moreover, Blauw-zwart does not feel comfortable having to look for a new trainer during the season.
