It was six months that turned into hell. Matias Fernandez (24 years old),champion of the Argentine Cup with Independiente Rivadavia (scored a great goal in the final against Argentinos)was without a club as he had terminated his loan in Villa San Carlos in August 2022 and after not having taken place in Quilmeswhich left him “thrown away”according to what he said after eliminating River in the most federal tournament in the country. It was not the first time that he had the pass in his possession: the same thing had happened to him in Estudiantes de La Plata when he was in Sixth grade. But this time, the start of 2023 seemed to be the end of the dream of being a footballer.Although his little son and his wife accompanied him during this process, nothing could prevent him from going through depression. It was than, when hopes were fading, that football returned to his life in the least expected way.
