His involvement with the club Dunajská Streda continued until law enforcement intervened. The experience of being interrogated and spending nearly 24 hours in a detention cell left an indelible mark. You are training one day, the other is in the room with barred windows and giving you food through the window in the door. This is all the fun, he recounted, describing the stark contrast and harsh reality of his situation.

While he ultimately avoided imprisonment, receiving a conditional sentence from a civil court, the transition to life outside the sport he knew was fraught with challenges. The sudden end to his career, coupled with the stigma of his actions, left him adrift.

Rebuilding a Life Beyond the Pitch

The uncertainty of his future weighed heavily. What will I do? I will survive? A lot of questions, but I didn’t have anything specific. Switching into everyday life was challenging, he reflected. The habitat he had known his entire life was no longer accessible due to his football ban.

Unable to work within football circles, he took on manual labor jobs to make ends meet and repay his debts. I couldn’t imagine I would end up in Fabrica, he admitted,referring to factory work.He also worked on construction sites and delivered leaflets via van.These were roles far removed from the roar of the crowd and the camaraderie of the locker room, but they were necessary steps toward financial stability.

Finding Purpose and Peace

Today, his journey has led him to a rehabilitation center focused on treating patients with neurological movement disorders. In his current role, he is responsible for the maintenance and operation of essential equipment, contributing to the well-being of others.

His personal life has also found a new equilibrium. After the dissolution of his first marriage, he has remarried and expressed deep appreciation for his current wife. I have an excellent wife I appreciate. I live happily even without working in football.
