Cunha Ends Goal Drought: 9-Match Wait Over

Manchester

New player Manchester United Matheus Cunha finally opened his goal account. Cunha admitted that he was depressed because he had not scored a goal for a long time.

Cunha was bought by MU from Wolverhampton for 62.5 million pounds sterling last summer. This 26 year old footballer needed nine matches before ‘breaking the egg’.

Matheus Cunha contributed one goal when MU rolled Brighton 4-2 at Old Trafford in the Premier League continued, Saturday (25/10) evening WIB. Cunha finished Casemiro’s pass with a hard kick from outside the penalty box to open his team’s lead.

“Yeah, finally!” said the Brazilian international player on the club’s official website. “Wow. I’ve worked hard for this. The winning streak started and I’m very happy. But of course I wanted to contribute a little more, and this day finally came, [tapi] we won anyway and everything is fine.”

“Of course,” answered Matheus Cunha after being asked whether fasting for goals weighed on his mind. “When you play as a striker, [Anda harus] score a goal. You have to contribute more.”

“However, the last time I said this, if my participation helped the team and then we started [bagus]I would be happy too. But of course with this goal, everyone will be pushing me. The players started joking and saying: ‘Wow, you can score goals too!’ “These things happened and everyone pushed me, and I’m so happy to be here,” he said.

The victory over Brighton catapulted him Manchester United to fourth place in the standings with only three points difference from Arsenal at the top. The Red Devils will hope Cunha continues his productivity when they visit Nottingham Forest next weekend.
