Belinda Bencic (WTA 13) will play the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 in Tokyo. Exempted from the first round, the St. Galloise beat Varvara Gracheva (82) in the round of 16 for her entry into the running.
Double Olympic medalist (gold in singles, silver in doubles alongside Viktorija Golubic) in 2021 in the Japanese megacity, Belinda Bencic won 6-4 6-3 in 1h25′ in front of the Frenchwoman of Russian origin. She will face Karolina Muchova (21) on Friday for a place in the last four.
