Ronald Matthew Solt (* May 19, 1962 in Bainbridge, Maryland) is a former American football player in the position of the Guard. He played in his career in the National Football League (NFL) for the Indianapolis Colts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Solt went to the high school in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He later visited the University of Maryland, where he was elected to the first team All-American and the first team All-Acc after the 1983 season.[1]
In the first round, Solt was fired in the NFL draft in 1984 in 19th place by the Indianapolis Colts.[2] In his first season he was elected to the all-rookie team. After the 1987 season, he was elected in the Pro Bowl.[3] He missed the beginning of the 1988 NFL season, since he decided to go on strike for a new, better endowed contract. He was then traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.[4] He was closed to four games for the 1990 season because he banned steroids.[5] In 1992 he returned to the Indianapolis Colts.[6] He stayed here until after the 1993 season before ending his professional career.
