Volunteer Engagement: Soccer Hero Makeover

The “Football Heroes – Young Volunteering Campaign” award is aimed specifically at young, talented volunteers who have distinguished themselves and/or their clubs in particular through their personal volunteer work.

To become a “soccer hero”, you must be a coach of a children’s/youth team, a youth manager or a referee and be between 18 and 30 years old. The award is given to young people who have drawn attention to themselves and their clubs in at least one of the past three years through their outstanding voluntary commitment and who are also actively involved in the 2025/2026 season.

The winners can not only look forward to the special award, but also to a unique and unforgettable experience: a one-week soccer hero educational trip to Spain in cooperation with KOMM MIT. During this week, the young volunteers not only receive further training from top-class speakers, they also gain new inspiration for their voluntary work and can network with like-minded people from all over Germany. This added value benefits not only the award winners, but also their associations.
