Gouda/Krimpenerwaard-The 10th anniversary of the Gouda sustainability platform (DPG) was celebrated on Thursday with a tour of two leading companies in the region. Entrepreneurs were shown up close how circular and sustainable entrepreneurship is put into practice.
At Kruiswijk Groep in Bergambacht, visitors were introduced to the way in which materials from demolition projects, such as wood, concrete and insulation, are reused and get a second destination. At De Vries and Verburg in Stolwijk, they were able to admire the new office building: largely built from wood, with a minimum material footprint and natural finishes.
The organization of the day was also dominated by sustainability. For example, participants were transported in electric vans from Promen, charged with green energy, and closed with a vegetarian barbecue.
‘Encouragement to continue’
Prior to dinner, chairman Teun Bokhoven, co -founder Nico Voogt and alderman Michiel Bunnik, addressed those present.
Bokhoven emphasized the value of cooperation: “We have been bringing entrepreneurs together for ten years to take steps together towards a sustainable future. We are celebrating that today, but it is mainly an encouragement to continue.”
