A new club in the football world is the birth of a new person. That also deserves all attention at Sportactua, although the concept applies to SK Laar ‘new’ Not entirely. After all, in Laar there has been football in the past 55 years, albeit in the recreational association in the province of Antwerp. But the football clubs in Zemst, and therefore also Laar, pay a lot of attention to young talents. Often based on excellent youth work, only the icing on the cake was missing in Laar. But everything is to give a solution, they thought within the club and hop a new club in fourth provincial C Flemish Brabant! After changing results in the preparation, last Sunday it went completely wild with the opening match against FC Peutie. And it has to be said: the introduction to provincial football did not just like SK Laar!
Ambitions
One swallow does not make spring and the 2-1 win of the past weekend does not mean more or less than a three-point. But of course it is nice if you as a newcomer can board the competition. It gives the citizen courage, isn’t it, and the training work suddenly feels a lot less heavy. At Groen-Wit they played football for 55 years in Antwerp, but they still started in Flemish Brabant. A logical consequence of the geographical location anyway, since Laar already belongs to the province of Flemish Brabant and the relocation for the first team is also a lot shorter.
The why of a first team in the provincial competition is already simple. After all, SK Laar has an excellent youth work and noticed that there was still upcoming talent. In order not to block those boys, chairman Jan Emmeregs and his management team decided to register a first team in the provincial competition. In mid -June their sleeves were put up and helped everyone in the annual clean -up day. Just to indicate that the club’s DNA is deeply rooted. At SK Laar, people do not blow high from the tower. “Giving our young people opportunities and going through a quiet season, we are going to be in full for that,” says the intention of everyone. If you can immediately complete your first introduction to a victory, the growth process helps. On Sunday, the Outmatch will follow at BHS United B, where at least one maximum will die.
