Archery enthusiasts in the Hérault region of France are gearing up for a meaningful departmental competition, set to take place on Sunday, October 26. The Félinoise d’Archerie club, led by President Christian Robin, has been diligently preparing for this event, which promises to be a highlight of the local archery calendar.
The competition will be hosted in the neighboring village of La Liviniére, thanks to the generous support of Mayor Pierre-André Pédusseau and his municipal council, who have provided the venue. This collaborative spirit underscores the strong community ties within rural sports organizations.
The Félinoise d’Archerie is an active member of the CDSMR (Departmental Sports Committee in Rural areas), an institution that champions sports within rural communities. Christian Vacassy, president of the Saint-Thibery club, the Archers of Endserto, also presides over this departmental structure. This upcoming competition is expected to draw approximately 80 archers, showcasing a robust participation from across the region.
To ensure the smooth execution of the event, Hérault Sport, the departmental sports structure, will be providing essential equipment. On Friday, October 24, a team will travel from Montpellier to deliver 11 marquees and supporting materials.The Félinoise d’Archerie club members will then dedicate their Saturday morning, starting at 9 a.m., to meticulously setting up the competition area. Their focus will be on creating a safe and welcoming environment for both the participating archers and any spectators who wish to attend.
this departmental competition marks the second event of the season for many of these archers, following an earlier competition held in Sauvian on Sunday, October 12. The club’s general assembly is slated for November, providing an opportunity to reflect on the season’s successes and plan for the future.
Organizers emphasize that the competition on October 26 is anticipated to be a spirited and enjoyable occasion, fostering camaraderie among participants and celebrating the dedication to the sport of archery.
