Martial Arts Gala Supports Téléthon: Mirathon Event in Miramas

Seven martial arts clubs in Miramas are uniting for a special charity gala at the Espace Pierre Tristani on Friday, November 13, 2026, to raise funds for the Téléthon, maritima.fr reported.

Armand Griffon, president of the Mirathon association, is leading the organizational effort for the upcoming event. A prominent figure in Provençal sports and the former president emblématique of the Ligue de handball, Griffon spends his time on volunteer work for the cause of the Téléthon through the Mirathon.

Griffon spent several seasons planning to bring the town’s martial arts community together under one roof. He explained that federating martial arts associations took more time than organizing sports collectifs, les sports individuels like tennis, but the goal has finally been achieved.

Doors open at 18h30, with the demonstrations scheduled to begin at 19h30 (environ 2h de spectacle avec entracte de 20 min). The municipalité provided the venue for the evening.

The program features deux heures de démonstrations non-stop avec seven local clubs each performing two passages, separated by a 20-minute entracte.

Spectators will watch technical displays from the Taï Jitsu, Judo, Aïkido, Karaté, Ênchuong Quan Khi Dao, Martial Art Défense, and GP Sport clubs. Buvette and accueil : restauration légère et animations sur place.

La championne Virginie Boyer comme marraine d’ouverture of the gala. Boyer, a multi-médaillée en parakaraté, will lead the opening demonstration in handikaraté.

Griffon highlighted Boyer’s active involvement in the event. « Nous aurons le marrainage actif de Virginie Boyer, que l’on ne présente plus aux sportifs qui font des arts martiaux puisque c’est une marraine plus que dynamique avec des médailles tout autour de la tête, du cou et des hanches ! »

Griffon pointed out that working toward a common goal for families affected by myopathy simplifies the collective mission compared to working for the handball.

The event operates on a solidarity-based entry system with a minimum donation of 2,50 € directed to the AFM-Téléthon. Tax receipts are available for larger contributions.

The event operates under quatre valeurs cardinales of the event: « Passion, respect, convivialité and solidarity ».
