The City Council of Piélagos will open from 00:00 on Wednesday, September 10, the registration period for the activities of the 2025-2026 course of the municipal sports schools.
As explained by the councilor responsible for the area, Borja López Alonso, 21 sports disciplines will be offered, which will be taught between the months of October and May in 9 locations in the municipality.
Specifically, he said, chess, athletics, bádminton, dance and hip hop, basketball, handball, climbing, fencing, football, table football, rhythmic gymnastics, hockey, karate, psychomotor skills and multipurpose, swimming, paddle, skating, petanca, tennis, table tennis and archery.
In this regard, he recalled that registrations must be made, through the Consistory Activities Portal: https://activities.pielagos.es/.
A wide sports offer
López Alonso has emphasized the wide sports offer of the City Council of Piélagos, aimed at children and young people between 6 and 18 years, except for the municipal schools of Basketball and Soccer, which students can attend, from 5 years and the Municipal School of Psychomotor and Multi -Adjustments, for children between 4 and 6 years.
“Coinciding with the beginning of the new school year, once again we offer a wide range of different sports disciplines so that our younger neighbors practice physical activity on a regular basis,” said the mayor
In this way, he has pointed out, in addition to taking care of health and being fit, they will be able to acquire important values associated with sports such as teamwork, respect, the eagerness of overcoming or the culture of effort.
The Councilor for Sports has reiterated the commitment of the City Council of Piélagos with the base sport and the generation of a sports quarry to which they contribute, as the municipal sports schools that are a reference in Cantabria has significantly defended.
Regarding the price of the activities, which will take place between the months of October and May in the towns of Arce, Boo, Liencres, Mortera, Oruña, Parbayón, Renedo, Vioño and Zurita, has pointed out that it will be 36 euros for the students registered in the municipality and 90 euros for the unbranged ones.
