Defending champion Italy is again in the final at the Billie Jean King Cup. Star player Jasmine Paolini, who saved the Azzurre on Friday from a predicament, had a large part of this.

The Italians defeated Ukraine in Shenzhen in Chinese on Friday in the semi -finals 2-1. Jasmine Paolini beat Elina Svitolina 3: 6, 6: 4, 6: 4 to 1: 1 equalization and then got the decisive point in doubles (6: 2, 6: 3) alongside Sara Errani. Svitolina, who had won both direct duels against Paolini this season, was already 4-2 in the second set. The Italian fought back – as in the quarter -finals against China.
A clear matter, on the other hand, was the double against Marta Kostyuk and Lyudmyla Kichenok. Errani and Paolini, who won the French Open this season, never left doubts about the victory.

Paolini stood with her back to the wall in her single, because Kostyuk previously prevailed 6: 2, 6: 3 against Elisabetta Cocciaretto. In the final, Italy meets either the 18-fold champion USA or Great Britain.
The second semi -finals will take place on Saturday. Italy won the Cup 2024 and was also in the title decision in 2023. At that time, Paolini & Co. lost to Canada.
