France has decided to mobilize three burst fighter planes “to contribute to the protection of Polish airspace” as well as Eastern Europe with NATO, after the “Russian drone incursions in Poland”, Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday.
“We will not give in to the growing intimidation of Russia”
“I was committed to it yesterday with the Polish Prime Minister” Donald Tusk, said the French president on the X network, specifying that he also maintained himself with NATO secretary general Mark Rutte and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
“We will not give in to the growing intimidation of Russia,” he said.
After the intrusion of Russian drones in its airspace on Wednesday, Warsaw asked NATO to activate article 4 of the Atlantic Treaty which provides consultations between Allies in the event of a threat to one of its members.
