Corey Perry extends his hockey career.
The 40-year-old leaves Edmonton Oilers-and is ready for Los Angeles Kings.
Los Angeles Kings has lost to Edmonton Oilers in the first playoffs four (!) Years in a row. In an attempt to break the curse against Oilers, Kings is now picking one of the Stanley Cup finalists’ plays.
Corey Perry has been a useful player for Oilers for the past two seasons as the club has gone to two straight Stanley Cup finals, but lost to Edmonton Oilers. Last year, the 40-year-old got a huge new ignition when he scored 19 goals and 30 points in 81 matches in the basic series. In the playoffs he then scored ten goals and 14 points in 22 matches, only Sam Bennett, Leon Draisaitl and Sam Reinhart scored more goals than Perry in this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs.
But there will be no continuation for Perry in Edmonton. When the Free Agent market opens, the veteran instead writes for La Kings. Perry and Los Angeles have agreed on a contract for the next season. According to data, Perry will be able to earn $ 3.5 million, just over SEK 33 million, in salary and any bonuses with the agreement with Kings.

Perry has played the Stanley Cup final with Dallas 2020, with Montreal 2021, with Tampa Bay 2022 and with Edmonton 2024 and 2025-but lost all five times. In his career, the 40-year-old has played 1,392 matches and scored 935 points.
