Abstract

In recent years, the physical development of youth football players has accelerated significantly, reflecting an increased awareness of the importance of high-quality training and physical preparation for growth and endurance during both training and matches. The purpose of this study was to systematically evaluate the physical development of youth football players using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) methodology. This review examines studies published in the past five years from indexed journal sources and highlights key findings regarding the effectiveness of various physical development programs for young football players. The findings indicate that monitoring physical parameters, implementing running tests, using experimental methodologies, and incorporating flexibility and cross-sectional training programs are all effective strategies for improving physical development in young footballers. Furthermore, such training programs can help develop youth athletes capable of progressing to professional levels.
