The rankings are calculated by adding together competition income such as prize money and salaries, and non-competition income such as sponsorship contracts and advertising appearance fees, based on income over the past 12 months.
The person who came out on top was C. Gauff (USA), a 21-year-old tennis player ranked third in the world, with an estimated income of $33 million (approximately 5.115 billion yen). She was the highest-paid female athlete for the second year in a row. Although he earned approximately $8 million in prize money (approximately 1.24 billion yen), his non-competitive income from sponsorship contracts with New Balance, Rolex, Mercedes-Benz, and others reached $25 million (3.875 billion yen), making him the most in the rankings.
