ANglet has 67 sports clubs. A figure that reveals the dynamism of the city and the diversity of its infrastructure dedicated to sport. Fencing and martial arts, basketball or handball, gymnastics, rugby and tennis are all disciplines that can be practiced in Anglet. The sporting particularisms of the region are found as well represented, with different disciplines of ball and of course, impossible to forget them at the ocean space: surfing, bodyboarding, coastal rescue … The city is also engaged in inclusion and various disabled athletes were honored in the evening.
“The city of all sports” as Claude Olive pointed out, in his words addressed to athletes. The town hall encourages sports by developing dedicated equipment. A quality of facilities that attracts, as with the French women’s football team, who came to internship to prepare the Euro 2025.

In the early evening, the organization gave a trophy of honor to Clément Roseyro, a real “waterman” evolving in all disciplines as long as he has a board screwed on the feet and waves to rider: kitesurf, wing foil, stand up paddle. Big surfer above all, he distinguished himself by winning the Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge 2025 in individual and in teams. The surfing formed on Angloys spots, absent, sent a message of video thanks, broadcast in the room. After this introduction, the winners paraded. They were about 150 to receive a poster representing the city, designed by Jean Duverdier. Sportsmen but also referees and coaches received the honors of the city. A friendly time then gathered the athletes around a buffet.
Two “prawns” in the French team
Matthieu Moreau, captain of the male team of the Olympic Handball Anglet Club is teasing by his players when delivering a reaction. But the sportsman says he is proud of this group who is rewarded this year to honor his second consecutive climb in the upper division: “It is a young team with a new coach and a new way of working, who is bearing fruit. We are very proud of the level of girls too ”. He explains that the team goes back after having experienced a descent into hell at the bottom of the regional level. This new dynamic brings the team to the doors of national divisions and it is the whole future that we can wish for this team.
The Handball Olympic Anglet goes up in the upper division for the second consecutive year.

Next to it, the prawns, the baseball club, not only celebrate the awards of the evening but also have a toast in Isaure Gourgue and Océane Prunier. The two players are selected for the French female baseball team to compete in the European Cup in Prague this summer.
