On February 9th, the Les arces Pourpres archery club hosted a nature shooting competition, a qualifying event for the French championships, at Le Peycher in Montpeyroux. The Gilles-Gambal trophy was awarded to a deserving team.
A Memorial Tribute
A poignant tribute was paid to Gibert Didière, who passed away on January 8th. A plaque, supported by a stele, was placed at the number one target on the course.
21 Targets Through the Woods
Hervé Laborie,club president,along with Pascal and Brigitte,expertly managed the registration process. Archers were categorized by age and weapon type—Barebow, Longbow, free shooting, and hunting bow.
Serge and Xavier, seasoned club members, along with Francis Affre, the trainer-referee, oversaw the competition.Fifty-three archers embarked on a challenging course, navigating a 3-kilometer route marked by 21 targets nestled within the woods.
The Agnac team emerged victorious, claiming the coveted trophy.
A Team Effort
The club’s success was a testament to the dedication of its volunteers: Jean-Pierre, Didier, Charlotte, Xavier, Pascal, Jérôme, Brigitte, and Marco. They, along with the president and referees, ensured a smooth and memorable event.
