Wouter Vrancken left for KRC Genk after four years at KV Mechelen, now he seems to be on his way to KAA Gent this summer. And so they are looking for a successor for Wouter Vrancken at Genk, possibly looking at Mechelen again.
Besnik Hasi has reached the end of his contract with Malinwa and it has already been decided that he can visit other places next summer. He was also initially linked to Ghent, but that story ultimately did not get through. And so it becomes possible Genk.
According to our information, Hasi is the person at the very top of the list of candidate coaches in the CEGEKA Arena. Hasi’s arrival at Genk would complete the circle, because he once played there as a player for five seasons.

The former midfielder was even one of the key players of the champion team in 1999. He secured his top transfer to Anderlecht in Limburg, the rest is history for the current coach of KV Mechelen.
It is also very clear for Mechelen supporter and podcaster Evert Winkelmans: “There is only one logical name at the moment to become coach of Genk and that is simply Besnik Hasi”, it sounds very clear in MIDMID.
