USA Dominates Archery World Cup 2024 Compound Division Finals in Yecheon

Saturday reserved for compound division finals in Yecheon (South Korea), home of the second seasonal stage of the Archery World Cup 2024. Italy is absent and will not be in the match tomorrow either on the occasion of the last day of competition dedicated to the final stages of the Olympic arc (the Italian men’s trio finished fourth in the team event).

Today’s program opened with the victory of India (Kaur, Swami and Vennam) 232-226 over Turkey in the final of the women’s team competition, while the success of the United States (Lutz, Schaff and Sullivan) in the men’s team competition by 235-233 again against Turkey. USA also on top in the Mixed Team with the success of Sullivan and Dean 155-153 in the decisive match against the Indians Vennam and Priyansh.

As for the individual competitions, the Colombian champion prevailed in the women’s field Sarah Lopez beating the Mexican Andrea Becerra 146-144 in the final. On the podium in third place was the South Korean host Han Seungyoen. Among the men, the twenty-year-old American triumphed Sawyer Sullivanwho therefore completed an amazing hat-trick (after first place in both team events) by defeating the Dutch phenomenon Mike Schloesser in the semi-final (in the end 3rd) and then in the last act his American compatriot James Lutz 149-148.
