Unión and Juventud de Bandera won the first game of the playoff series against Belgrano de Tucumán by winning 114-107 in double overtime, at home.

It was an intense and even game, which had the local team up 85-82, but a triple by Cristian Ortiz at the end for the Tucumán team tied the score and forced overtime.

Something similar happened in that first extra period, as the home team won 98-95, but a bomb by Fernando Carabajal stretched the match out again.

Already in that second extra time Unión y Juventud was smarter and ended up breaking the game in their favor.

The team had excellent offensive work from Alejo Crotti, who finished with 41 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, accompanied by the work of Milton Vittar, who joined the team, contributing 21 points, 16 boards and 3 assists. On the visitor’s side, Gonzalo Gerez finished with 32 scores and 9 recoveries.

The series now moves to Tucumán. On Monday they will meet and if Unión y Juventud achieves victory, they will enter the next phase of the playoffs. If Belgrano wins, on Tuesday they will meet again in the third and final match.
