After a lot of speculation on if he would ever actually assume a NFL on Fox game announcer role, Tom Brady now has his first game there set. Brady appeared at Fox’s upfronts advertising presentation in New York City Monday. And there, Fox NFL Sunday analyst Michael Strahan surprised Brady with the announcement of his first game in the Fox booth alongside lead play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt . That’s set to be the Dallas Cowboys against the Cleveland Browns in the late national window in Week 1:
Interestingly enough, as Strahan notes there, that game will be in an exclusive doubleheader window for Fox (so without national CBS competition). Fox had often received the only Week 1 doubleheader, but the past few years had also seen CBS with one.
So there will be a whole lot of the country tuning in to see how Brady does as a booth analyst, and also how he does talking about the Cowboys. That should be interesting to watch indeed.
